1st - 31st March: Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month. Do you know that 90% of women don't know the four main symptoms of ovarian cancer? Knowing this information could be lifesaving, as an early diagnosis can make all the difference. Ovarian cancer has four main symptoms:
· Persistent stomach pain
· Persistent bloating
· Difficulty eating/feeling full more quickly
· Needing to wee more frequently
Make an appointment with your GP as soon as possible. Keep a record of the symptoms you are experiencing and have your notes to hand when you speak to your doctor, to help them make a diagnosis.
3rd March: World Wildlife Day
United Nations World Wildlife Day (WWD) is celebrated every year on 3 March to celebrate wild animals and plants. Every year, we recognize the unique roles and contributions of wildlife to people and the planet. Every six seconds, somebody contacts Samaritans. Ten times a minute they help someone turn their life around.
28th July: World Hepatitis Day
Worldwide, 300 million people are living with viral hepatitis unaware. Without finding the undiagnosed and linking them to care, millions will continue to suffer, and lives will be lost. World Hepatitis Day, 28 July, calls on people from across the world to take action, raise awareness and join in the quest to find the “missing millions”.
30th July: International Day of Friendship
The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

We know that for those living with migraine it has a significant impact on their quality of life, impacting their mental health, relationships, education and their ability to work.
5th September: International Day of Charity
The International Day of Charity was established with the objective of sensitising and mobilising people, NGOs, and stakeholders all around the world to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities.
10th September: World Suicide Prevention Day
World Suicide Prevention Day is an awareness day observed on September 10th every year, in order to provide worldwide commitment and action to prevent suicides.
18th September: International Equal Pay Day
A day to raise awareness about equal pay. This recognition is an intentional focus on the disparities of the pay between women and men for work of equal value, where the work requires equal or more skill, effort, responsibility and working conditions. Their goal is to end pay gap discrimination.

A celebration of kindness, which aims to increase the value of kindness in society as well as increase the number of kind acts that take place.

Aims to raise awareness of bullying of children and young people.
17th November: World Prematurity Day
Raises awareness of pre-term birth and the concerns of pre-term babies and their families worldwide.
25th November: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation that impacts 1 in 3 women globally. The numbers are shocking. From sexual harassment to emotional abuse, acid attacks to female genital mutilation, the forms of violence women face for simply being women are unacceptable. On this day, I stand in solidarity with survivors across the world. I believe we can envision and create a safer world for all women when we stand united and speak up about injustice. Both women and men play a role in being part of the change. Get involved with organizations working to empower women and increase access to education.
30th November: Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.

1st December: World AIDS Day
World AIDS Day takes place on 1 December each year. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
